Our Focus on Public Service

Read HAC President Alexis L. Toney's thoughts on public service as it relates to Huntsville Alumnae Chapter.

Since the chartering of the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter on April 24, 1954, our members have work diligently for over 69 years to enhance the lives of the adults and children in the Huntsville / Madison County communities through education, engagement, and activism. Our current membership consist of women of various ages, diverse backgrounds, and distinguished professions, who take great pride in making a positive impact in the community through our youth initiatives and programs such as the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, Delta GEMS (Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully) program, EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program, youth and senior story hour, providing meals to seniors through Meals on Wheels, voter registration drives, Delta Derby Extravaganza, and providing scholarships during our Honors Convocation.

We remain faithful and committed to the ideals of Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Service, adopting the theme of our International President and Chair, National Board of Directors, Elsie Cooke-Holmes, “Forward with Fortitude: Engaging Our Sisterhood, Empowering Our Communities, Elevating Our Impact”.
