For 31 years, the Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has recognized the accomplish-ments of high school students who have achieved honor roll status during the first semester of the school year at its Annual Honors Convocation. Over the last six years DELTA, Inc has partnered with Delta Sigma Theta to provide book stipends to the top three scholars that have been recognized all four years of their high school career. In 2007, we expanded our involvement by co-sponsoring the Education Empowerment Day of Service Program.

Honors Day Convocation was held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 3:00 PM, at Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church. We honored over 300 youths from Huntsville, Madison City, Madison County and surrounding areas.
In addition to honoring our high school students each year, we also recognize and honor our local high school and col-lege students with scholarships to Alabama A&M University, University of Alabama Huntsville, Calhoun Community College, Drake State Technical College.

Annual Education Empowerment Day of Service Program. This event was held at the Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church Family Christian Life Center. We offered a series of workshops for all high school students and their parents.While the primary objective for both of these programs is to recognize these students for their academic excellence, we also want to equip them with tools to keep them on the path to success as a student, and ultimately as a community leader.
