Delta Sigma Theta Celebrates Disney’s First African-American Heroine

 

princessandthefrog_poster_smallHuntsville, Ala. —- In celebration of Disney’s first African-American heroine, Huntsville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. sponsored a “Delta Red Carpet” event for the young ladies of Delta Academy. The young ladies had an opportunity to be entertained and to become a special part of history. Delta Academy provides an opportunity for local Delta chapters to enrich and enhance the education of young teens.

 
The sorority adopted “The Princess and the Frog,” as its “Delta Red Carpet” feature film under its Project ART: Actively Redefining Together initiative. Cynthia M. A. Butler-McIntyre, National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., recently announced the organization’s support of The Walt Disney Company’s animated feature film, “The Princess and the Frog” based on its historical significance.
